Charlie Kaufman's latest project is an animated film that's as fantastic as it is fatalistic, but even though it's been in the works since at least 2012, there hasn't been much in the way of released footage. That changes today with the first trailer, which provides a two-minute glimpse of the film's style (created by Starburns Industries, whose work also includes Rick and Morty, Moral Orel, and Community's Christmas episode) narrated by David Thewlis (the Harry Potter series). Sure, the dialogue and soundtrack sound quintessentially Kaufman-esque, but it does look very good. Maybe "charming" is the right word. Let's say that. "Charming."

Anomalisa will have a limited release in the US on December 30th.
