Next year, Melissa McCarthy will star in a comedy whose plot centers around something we've known for a while: she's a boss. Unfortunately, McCarthy as a boss in the movie The Boss is not a great boss. McCarthy's character is powerful and insanely rich, but not really very nice. After she's sent to prison for insider training, she decides to revamp her personality once she's released so that people will like her again.

It's not about Bruce Springsteen

The trailer features McCarthy's character speaking at an insane keynote, complete with backup dancers and pyrotechnics, and hitting her underlings with tennis balls. She also appears to wear only aggressively turtlenecked sweaters — a style choice I think at least one person would approve of.

Peter Dinklage, Kristen Bell, Kathy Bates, and Kristen Schaal also star. The Boss will be released on April 8th, 2016.
