Anchorman director Adam McKay is making his biggest prestige play yet with The Big Short, a dramatization of the late '00s financial crisis adapted from Michael Lewis' 2010 book of the same name. The latest trailer for the movie was released this afternoon, and it's full of the financial tomfoolery, suited antics, and ridiculous haircuts that made the first trailer memorable. Mark Baum (Steve Carell) visits a stripper to break her some sobering financial news; she reveals she's responsible for five houses and a condo. It's that kind of portrait of American excess — the sums being thrown around are staggering enough to become funny.
The Big Short's set to premiere in select cities on December 11th and everywhere on December 23rd.
