We've known the Final Fantasy VII Remake was real — at least, we were told as much last June at E3. Today, Sony kicked off its 2015 PlayStation Experience showcase with what looks like the first gameplay footage of the game. That means a cleaner, higher resolution Cloud Strife; a cleaner, higher resolution Barret Wallace; and of course cleaner, higher resolution sidewalks (and other environmental stuff). There's also voice acting! The game is reportedly taking its visual cues from the 2005 film Advent Children and will also make "dramatic changes" to FF7's classic battle system.
In the meantime, you can play the "original" Final Fantasy VII (as in, the PC port of it) starting today on PlayStation 4.
