The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special started in the best way possible with Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake performing a musical medley of catchphrases. The show that, in Fallon’s words "inspired generations of comedians around the world," raced through Gumby, Coneheads, cheeburger cheeburger, Mr. Bill, Church Lady, cowbell, two wild and crazy guys, and of course "Dick in a box." From season one until the present day cast in just over five minutes. There’s even some Blues Brothers dancing and a reprise of Molly Shannon’s Superstar. It was funny, breathless, offbeat, and even out of tune at times — in other words, it was perfect SNL.
