The White House is winning the internet lately. President Obama's new @POTUS account managed to set a new Guinness World Record last night for fastest time to reach a million followers on Twitter, all only five hours after it went live. It pretty much trounced the previous record, which was set last year by Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. after the actor reached a million in 23 hours and 22 minutes.

Obama's new record is only his latest victory on social media. The @BarackObama account, which is run the community organizing nonprofit Organize for Action, has the most followers of any politician. Meanwhile, the president's tweet following his re-election in 2012 is still in the top three for most retweeted tweets of all time.
