Uber now lets riders request Spanish-speaking drivers in more cities

New, 10 comments

Los Angeles, Orange County, and Chicago added to the list

After launching in three cities earlier this year, Uber is expanding its uberESPAÑOL program to Los Angeles, Orange County, and Chicago today. The option lets Uber customers specifically request rides with Spanish-speaking drivers.

uberESPAÑOL can be enabled after entering a promotional code (UBERESPANOLLA in the case of Los Angeles) and then toggling it on when you hail an Uber X ride from your smartphone. The feature is limited to Uber X for now and cannot be used with the company's other ride tiers. But UberESPAÑOL costs users nothing extra and represents Uber's continued efforts to cater to multicultural communities.
