Silicon Valley entrepreneur David Goldberg passed away suddenly last night, reported by Recode and confirmed by his brother Robert in a Facebook post.

The Survey Monkey CEO and husband of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg was an admired and well-liked figure in Silicon Valley, and his unexpected death has drawn shock and an outpouring of condolences. He is the father of two children.

"In lieu of donations, we want to celebrate his life in a manner that respects the family’s privacy as they cope with this tragic, life changing event." Robert Goldberg wrote. "Sheryl, their children, and our family would be grateful if people would post their memories and pictures of Dave to his Facebook profile."
