Portal is finally getting its own (virtual) pinball table. Developer Zen Studios announced today that it's working with Valve to create a table based on the sci-fi puzzle game. The table will utilize Portal's central mechanic — jumping through portals — to add some twists to shooting a ball around a pinball table. It'll also include turrets and other features of the Aperture Science lab, which of course includes the lovably demented robot GLaDOS.
This isn't the first time Zen Studios has built a table based on an established property — its past work includes everything from Star Wars to The Walking Dead — but few video games lend themselves to pinball quite as well as Portal. (Except for Metroid.) You'll be able to play it soon, as Portal pinball launches as downloadable content for Zen Pinball 2 and Pinball FX2 on a huge range of platforms the week of May 25th.
