There was a time when Mario Tennis was the very best video game about tennis ever made, according to my memory of Mario Tennis and the Nintendo 64. And hey look, here's a new Mario Tennis, subtitled Ultra Smash, coming this holiday to Wii U. Classic Nintendo characters? Check. Random power-ups to blame for losing the game, set, and match? Check. Lots of ridiculous jumping in the area for otherwise impossible shots? Check. Let's just hope this is just the first in a long line of more Mario sports titles like baseball, soccer, American Football, UFC (though that's technically Smash Bros), and curling.

The first Mario tennis game was, weirdly enough, Mario's Tennis for the Virtual Boy (clearly before its time). The last Mario Tennis title came out in 2012 for Nintendo 3DS.
