New trailers: Heroes Reborn, Fear the Walking Dead, Netflix's Wet Hot American Summer, and more

All the shows and movies you should be looking out for

There are two big things happening with this week's trailers. First, there are a ton of comedies, all starring some great comedians. And second, there are a bunch of recent series all coming back for another go. It makes for a fun week. You can check out the nine best trailers below.

Heroes Reborn

I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say that this looks fairly awful. Which is too bad. Heroes started with an amazing first season back in 2006, but it quickly went far downhill. It's exciting that NBC is giving it another chance in the form of a miniseries, but this first teaser doesn't give me a lot of hope for Reborn. It starts September 24th.

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp

It's pretty amazing seeing the entire cast of Wet Hot American Summer — so many of whom are now enormous stars — all getting back together. There's not a lot to go on here, but it certainly seems like First Day of Camp is having fun with the nostalgia. It'll all be out July 31st on Netflix.

Fear the Walking Dead

I kind of love this teaser for how much mood it's able to create in so little time while showing basically nothing. It's a sign that Fear the Walking Dead may not just be more of the same — although this other teaser is a bit more ridiculous. The series arrives on AMC in August.

Legend

If a movie stars Tom Hardy, there's a good chance I'll want to see it. Given that Legend has Hardy starring in two roles, I'm pretty hooked. The film has him played a pair of London gangsters in the ’60s, and it looks like a pretty great mixture of classic style and modern thrills. It'll be out October 2nd.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

The Paranormal Activity series is finally coming to an end with The Ghost Dimension, or so its producer claims. It's been a couple years since the last one, so maybe fans will be ready for another come October.

Masterminds

Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess has a pretty great cast filling out his next movie, with stars including Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, and Owen Wilson. Hess' sensibilities are as loud and clear as ever in this trailer, but it looks like the comedians who star in Masterminds bring it a new kind of liveliness. It'll be out August 19th.

7 Days in Hell

Any time you have this many huge stars in a movie with this ridiculous of a premise, it's bound to be fun. 7 Days in Hell is a mockumentary that has Andy Samberg and Kit Harington playing a weeklong tennis match and doing all kinds of other bizarre things along the way. It's all way over the top, but that's kind of the only way this could exist. It premieres July 11th on HBO.

Sleeping With Other People

Sleeping With Other People appears, perhaps unexpectedly, to actually be about a couple not sleeping together. It's a sex comedy and a romantic comedy all in one, with Alison Brie and Jason Sudeikis as its stars. It certainly sounds like a good formula. It'll be out September 11th.
