Verge ESP: Pluto, Pixels, and the psychology of spoilers

SPOILER ALERT

One of the things Emily encounters most often in her film reviews is some person in the comments complaining she's spoiled the film. So she talked to UCSD social psychologist Nicholas Christenfeld — who, it turns out, has done some work on how people react to spoilers.

Before that, though, we chat about the Pluto flyby last week (you can see the best images here!) and Emily gets some feelings off her chest regarding a movie called Pixels, which appears to be just dreadful. What major works of art will Liz, Emily, and Nicholas spoil over the course of the podcast? How is the plot of a movie like a coat hanger? Tune in to Verge ESP to find out.
