Stephen Colbert can't get enough of Kendrick Lamar. Lamar was the final musical guest on The Colbert Report last year, and now he'll be the first musical guest on Colbert's Late Show. Colbert made the announcement last night at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, The Wrap reports.

It's not clear if Lamar is planning to perform something from his excellent recent album To Pimp a Butterfly, or if he'll go a little bit rogue. The song played at Lamar's Colbert Report appearance was written the day before it was performed, and hasn't been released anywhere since.

If Kendrick writes another song just for this show, Colbert should ask him to perform every night. Think of all the new Kendrick Lamar songs we'd get! The first episode of Colbert's Late Show will air on September 8th.
