Apple CEO Tim Cook will appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert next week on September 15th. Colbert announced the news via Twitter, with an accompanying photo showing the host wearing his Apple Watch. The interview will mark Cook's first appearance on the late night network talk show circuit; over the years, Apple's chief executive has sat down with Brian Williams, Charlie Rose, and ABC News' David Muir, among others.

Cook's September 15th guest slot comes less than a week after Apple's big September 9th event, which saw the unveiling of new iPhones, a new Apple TV, the iPad Pro, iPad mini 4, and new Apple Watch models. It's also one day before the launch of iOS 9, which is scheduled to roll out on September 16th.
Both new iPhones go up for preorder within a matter of hours, and if all goes well, Cook may have some big numbers to share on Colbert's Late Show. Colbert, a longtime fan of Apple products, participated in the company's October event last year. Other technology leaders including Elon Musk and Uber CEO Travis Kalanick have appeared on the new Late Show during its first week, but Colbert managed to lock down someone even bigger for week two.
