Amazon's next flagship Fire tablet revealed in leaked photos

Amazon's got a new tablet around the corner if newly leaked shots from @evleaks are any indication. The images reveal a 10-inch Fire tablet running an updated version of the company's Fire OS software — with recent apps like HBO Now also visible. It actually looks much closer to stock Android than Amazon's previous efforts; the home, back, and recent apps buttons are identical to what you'd find on a device running Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Recent rumors have claimed Amazon is working on a $50 tablet, but it's highly unlikely that's the product we're seeing here. Instead, this looks positioned to be the company's next flagship. It would also mark Amazon's largest Fire tablet yet if the 10-inch size quoted by @evleaks turns out to be accurate.

No, it's not a match for the iPad Pro, but could nonetheless be a great avenue for consuming Amazon content like Prime Video, Kindle ebooks, and Prime Music. Amazon hasn't announced this Fire tablet yet, nor has the company scheduled any upcoming press events. But the Fire tablet line was last updated a year ago, so it's due for an imminent refresh.
