Amazon isn't slowing down its expansion of Prime Now, it's one-hour delivery service. Los Angeles is the latest city to receive the expedited service, which offers free two-hour deliveries and one-hour deliveries for $7.99 to Amazon Prime members. The delivery service is also available in the neighboring Orange County.
Prime Now is also available in Orange County
Prime Now users can order anything from household items like paper towels to electronics including TVs and have it delivered in less than two hours. Users in LA will get the added benefit of deliveries from grocery stores including Bristol Farms, Sprouts Farmers Market, Fresh & Easy, Erewhon Organic Grocer, and 99 Ranch Market. Partnering up with smaller grocery chains is a shrewd move for Amazon, as it continues to encroach on territory dominated by Walmart.
Amazon says it has established four Prime Now hubs in Southern California, which should keep delivery times acceptable despite the notorious LA traffic. While Amazon is testing out alcohol delivery in Seattle through Prime Now, it looks like LA users — just like the other 11 cities — are still out of luck in that regard for now. Prime Now is available for deliveries from 8AM to Midnight, seven days a week through the Prime Now app on iOS and Android.
