Returning to CES after winning The Verge's Best in Show award at the 2015 convention, Gogoro is today a company with great momentum. It's a hugely ambitious project, requiring the setup of a dense network of battery-swapping stations to support all those adorable electric scooters, but year one of Gogoro's existence has proven an unlikely success. The company rolled out its service in scooter-obsessed Taipei, shipping over 4,000 vehicles, and finished off the year by announcing expansion plans for Amsterdam.
