Samsung has announced that the rose gold and platinum versions of its Gear S2 Classic smartwatch will be available for purchase starting tomorrow, Friday, February 12th. The more upscale versions of the watch will sell for $449.99 each, a bit more than the standard stainless steel version, which is priced at $349.99.

The 18k rose gold model comes with an ivory-colored leather band and the platinum model is paired to a black leather band. Though both new models use precious metals, they are merely plated and not solid gold or platinum. That helps explain why they cost significantly less than the $10,000 and up Apple Watch Edition, which is made from solid 18k gold.

The new watches use the same software and interface as the Gear S2 and S2 Classic released last year, including the clever rotating bezel for navigating the user interface. They also come with a handful of exclusive watch faces designed to match their more elegant finishes. The Gear S2 works with most phones running Android 4.4 KitKat or newer, and Samsung says that iPhone compatibility will be available later this year.

If you're interested in buying either the rose gold or the platinum Gear S2 Classic, you'll be able to find it at Amazon, Best Buy, Macy's, and Samsung's own webstore starting tomorrow.
