Fox is setting its sights on March 2nd, 2018 for its next Predator movie. That places it eight years out from that Adrien Brody and Topher Grace Predators film from Robert Rodriquez. Best we forget about that.
We don't know much about the next installment, though so far it's being called The Predator, and back in 2014 it was announced that filmmaker Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon) would take on writing duties and be in the director's chair. He'll be working with screenwriter Fred Dekker, and he told Collider that the film will be an "inventive sequel," noting: "Why start over, when you’ve all this rich mythology yet to mine?"

Fox also updated its release schedule for a few other big-budget movies. After stalling out of the gate production-wise, the Channing Tatum Gambit movie has officially been pushed back from its original October 6th, 2016 slot. In its place are dates for two unidentified Marvel movies, coming in October 6th, 2017, and January 12th, 2018. It's possible that the Doug Liman-directed Gambit film will take that 2017 date. The film has yet to start shooting.
Ridley Scott's next Alien movie has been moved up, too. Alien: Covenant is now set for August 4th, 2017.
