When Hatsune Miku goes on her next tour she'll be bringing along arguably the biggest name in chiptunes. Starting in April, the virtual pop star will be doing several shows across North America, teaming up with chiptunes rock stars Anamanaguchi. The tour kicks off in Seattle on April 23rd, before wrapping up in New York City on May 28th, with shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Toronto, and Chicago sandwiched in between. Miku's 2016 North American tour was first announced last November, but today is the first news that Anamanaguchi will be joining her.

The pop star — who is what's known as a Vocaloid, a piece of music software turned into a virtual musician — has slowly been introducing herself to North America through a number of appearances. In 2014 a Miku hologram performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, and that same year she also opened up several shows on Lady Gaga's Artpop tour. She also received a makeover from famed Final Fantasy designer Tetsuya Nomura, and last year was featured in the rhythm game Persona 4: Dancing All Night as a downloadable add-on. Anamanaguchi, meanwhile, are known for their distinct, rock star-like approach to the typically nostalgia-driven chiptunes genre. They also once sent a slice of pizza into space.
