Someday, civilization will collapse. It is with that knowledge that a group of Russians — who might know more than most about the perils of that collapse — have built the Sherp. It's an all-terrain vehicle that can easily climb over barriers more than 2 feet high. Water is no obstacle, making it truly all-terrain. Oh, and it can be yours for less than $70,000.
It looks almost like a Tonka toy, with comically huge tires and odd proportions. It weighs a bit less than 3,000 pounds, propelled by a 44-horsepower 1.5-liter Kubota diesel engine. It's not fast, topping out at 28 mph (3.7 mph on water), but given the terrain it can cover that's plenty. It comes with a 15.3-gallon fuel tank, enough to run all day, with additional fuel tanks available to let you go on truly epic adventures.
Want one of your own? Even fully equipped, the Sherp still prices out at less than $100,000 (with trailer!). So what are you waiting for? The end of civilization is coming.
