SNL skit sees 'Tidal intern' Ariana Grande impersonate Britney Spears, Shakira, and more

Tidal's had a bit of a rocky road since its star-studded relaunch last May, but it appears the streaming music service has at least earned itself enough mindshare to get its very own Saturday Night Live skit. Well, not quite, because the skit was mostly just a vehicle for host Ariana Grande to show off her singing chops.

Grande plays a lowly intern at Tidal's streaming headquarters (which looks like something out of the ‘70s), and when the streams start dropping it's up to Grande to temporarily fill in the tunes with her voice. That means we're treated to Grande's takes on Britney Spears, Shakira, Rihanna, Céline Dion, and Whitney Houston — it's an impressive performance. Oh, and "Jay Z" makes an appearance for good measure. The setup is actually identical to another skit from 2012, though last time the company was Pandora and the intern was Bruno Mars.
