Last month, the LA Clippers — owned by world's-happiest-man-dunking, Steve Ballmer — unveiled a new mascot: Chuck the Condor. Chuck has a big blue beak, a happy-go-lucky grin, and is hated by Clippers fans. Kanye West, who apparently attended a Clippers game on Sunday, is no exception, tweeting yesterday: "Steve Ballmer can I please redesign the Clippers mascot."
As this came at the end of a string of somewhat typically ambitious Kanye messages, (beginning with "I have discovered my single greatest quality. I care," and ending: "I think human beings can create a Utopia.") you might be forgiven for thinking it was just an idle tweet. However, Ballmer took it seriously enough to respond to West, first with an offer of lunch, and then with an invitation to a game:
@kanyewest @LAClippers love Chuck but love your creativity. Lets talk. Lunch?— Steve Ballmer (@Steven_Ballmer) March 13, 2016
@kanyewest Better than lunch. Let's grab a Clips game together and talk— Steve Ballmer (@Steven_Ballmer) March 13, 2016
One player in this piece of online theater wasn't so happy, though — with Chuck himself responding to the discussion about his possible early retirement with a reference to Kanye's latest album:
I miss the old Kanye. https://t.co/staijL8Jpf— Chuck The Condor (@ChuckTheCondor) March 13, 2016
