BBC America has released the first trailer for the new-look Top Gear and, well, it's pretty good. Gone are Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May (all over at Amazon, of course), and instead we have Matt LeBlanc, UK presenter Chris Evans — and a whole lot more. And while you can argue that any trailer full of fast cars, faster jets, and what looks like a Reliant Rialto decorated with the American flag is bound to be quite exciting, it does seem like the new team has captured some of the old Top Gear spirit.
LeBlanc looks perfectly at home (even if Evans does sound a little like an Austin Powers impersonator), and the clip features the usual array of cars and locations. There's a Zenos E10 driving round the Top Gear track, a Dodge Viper ACR with a machine gun mounted on the roof at a US Navy airbase in Nevada, and, again, LeBlanc in the back of a Reliant Rialto, stuck in a recovery truck on the M6 motorway in the UK. Top Gear season 23 will premier in the UK on the 8th of May, coming to BBC America that same month.
