Real-life Tony Stark and SpaceX/Tesla/SolarCity head honcho Elon Musk did not attend a secret Republican meeting to discuss toppling Donald Trump, he says in a tweet.
That the tweet is far from the most absurd thing to come out of this election cycle is a testament to how bizarre the whole enterprise has become. Earlier this week, a report claimed a number of tech CEOs were meeting at the American Enterprise Institute's World Forum to discuss Trump and how best to stop him. Attendees were said to include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google co-founder Larry Page, and Musk.
The AEI meeting wasn't secret and I was only there for a few hours to talk about Mars and sustainable energy. Nothing to do with Trump.

It's not clear if other executives discussed Trump or not, but Musk says he was only at the meeting "to talk about Mars and sustainable energy." Musk indicated in a later tweet that he does not support Trump.
Update 1:57PM ET: A prior version of this post indicated that Musk had not shared his feelings on Trump.
