I enjoyed Zootopia, Disney's new non-Pixar animated feature about a world in which predators and prey live in relative harmony. But I struggled to parse what the film was commenting on. I assumed race, but who does the film view as predator, and who is prey?

This 45-minute documentary from Fusion addresses that question around the 20-minute mark. The answer given by the filmmakers digs deeper into their research on bias and prejudice. Be sure to also watch the segment about "tame collars," which appeared in an early draft of the story. It begins around the 25-minute mark, and pulls back the curtain a little on how Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar influence each others' work.
