Bethesda has become one of the most important players at the annual E3 video game conference, despite only having hosted a major press event for two years. Last year, the company aired trailers for Doom, Dishonored 2, and Fallout 4. This year, Bethesda sought to outdo itself, revealing first trailers for Prey and Quake Champions, along with footage from upcoming Fallout 4 DLC and a remastered Skyrim.
Here are some of our favorite trailers from Bethesda's E3 2016 press conference. Check out our E3 hub for all of this week's news.
Quake Champions
Quake is back — sort of! Designed for the modern e-sports set, Quake Champions sounds more like Overwatch than its predecessors. Players will have a number of characters with different styles, looks, and attributes. More will be revealed at QuakeCon this summer.
Prey
Rumors of Prey's death were greatly exaggerated. The franchise is receiving a reboot, it appears. The game in this trailer, above, looks nothing like the original Prey, which had sexual alien doors and an excellent use of Heart's "Barracuda."
Fallout 4 DLC and a remastered Skyrim
In a one-two punch, Bethesda announced an entire set of Fallout 4 downloadable content, along with a remastered version of one its most beloved games, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Fallout 4 DLC will arrive throughout the summer.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends
Card. Game. Hype. Train. In the not-so-distant future, all AAA games will be mere promotional materials for the highly addictive card games that follow them.
Dishonored 2
The first meaty gameplay demonstration of E3 came at the end of Bethesda's press conference with a tour of Dishonored 2. The trailer, while shorter, condenses the meat of that demo into an action-focused spectacle set to a Fleetwood Mac cover.
