I present an incomplete list of roles for which Meryl Streep received an Oscar nomination: a witch, a deranged mother, a beloved chef, a malicious magazine editor, an intense nun, and a Danish baroness. Meryl Streep can play any role, and do so with a level of commitment that would frighten lesser talent. Never has that fact rang more true than when gazing upon these photos of the actress dressed as presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.
This is an imperfect costume. The belly is too big. The tie is too long. The wig is too full of hair. And the orange skin tone stops around the eyes, as if this version of Donald Trump wore extra large swimming goggles while getting his spray-on tan. But Streep has worked with less. (See: Ricki and the Flash.)
I know these Meryl Trump photos are a lot to take in, especially on a Tuesday, so if you need a mental cleanse, here's Streep performing her greatest role: Aunt Esme Dauterive on King of the Hill.
