Look, as crazy as it sounds, not everyone has been watching Game of Thrones season by season, episode by episode. And for those who have heard of the show but haven't yet dived in (or have just missed the latest season), there's a daunting amount of backstory to wade through and / or remember. Thankfully, Samuel L. Jackson is here to help, delivering a concise, sweary, and entertaining rundown of GoT's first five seasons in just seven minutes and 40 seconds.

The video covers all the salient points, including characters' locations, movements, and amassing of armies and dragons, etc. And while it would be impossible to avoid spoilers altogether, Jackson manages to artfully skirt around some of the show's biggest surprises. (Also, guess who is completely and rightly ignored? That's right — the Sand Snakes!) Anyway, it's worth a watch even if you know what's happened, just to hear Jackson boil down the central lesson of GoT to just four words: "Mo' power, mo' problems."
