So Niantic released a broken, buggy game that immediately captured both Liz's and Emily's hearts: Pokémon Go. It is funny, though, how so many of Oakland's Pokéstops are trash cans, don't you think? Emily, who was playing in a car in Los Angeles, felt shy about the dork-factor when she returned to New York. Liz, a dork, is planning on a Pokémon bar crawl.
But of course, even though Pokemon have eaten our brains, they aren't all that's going on in the world. Emily wrote a lovely feature about a paid-dating service called Ohlala, and it turns out a lot of our commenters had feelings about it. Apparently, there's a gender divide on Ohlala; women don't seem especially affronted, but men are mad. Emily tells us the stories that didn't make it into the feature, we discuss emotional labor, and how Ohlala squares with Give Your Money to Women. As a special bonus, Liz and Emily discuss various bad dates they have been on. Join us!
