Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is holding an "Ask Me Anything" session on Reddit the night that President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are set to speak at the Democratic National Convention. The AMA, which was announced this morning, will be held on July 27th at 7PM ET on Trump subreddit r/The_Donald.

Reddit has become a significant platform for campaigning over the past few years. Obama became one of the first major political figures to hold an AMA during the 2012 election season; unlike Trump's upcoming AMA, his session took place on the official, general-interest r/IAmA subreddit. Likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton showed up on the site earlier this year. Trump has an extremely active Reddit fanbase, albeit one that has been strained by infighting over racism and moderation issues.

Trump was officially nominated last week at the Republican National Convention, and so far this week, he’s attempted to maintain momentum on Twitter by pointing to a series of leaked Democratic National Committee emails published by WikiLeaks. A Reddit Q&A is another way to keep attention on him during one of the Democrats’ biggest events.
