Microsoft bashes Apple's iPad Pro computer claims in new Surface ad

Microsoft first started bashing the iPad with comparison ads back in the Windows 8 days of 2013, and the company is now reviving its efforts this week with a new commercial aimed squarely at the iPad Pro. Apple's latest iPad Pro commercial really wants you to believe the iPad Pro is a full computer, and Microsoft is ready to debate that claim. Microsoft's new ad mocks Apple's latest iPad Pro commercial by bashing the fact the iOS tablet got a keyboard addition, but no trackpad, full desktop apps, or external ports. "I just got a keyboard," says Siri in the commercial, "I'm a computer now, like you."

Like previous comparison ads, Microsoft focuses on the iPad's lack of "power" to describe itself as a computer, by mocking the lack of an Intel processor, full desktop versions of Office, and no trackpad or USB ports. It's similar to what we've seen in the past, but this time it's Siri and Cortana in conversation. The ad ends by claiming that "Surface does more, just like you." Microsoft argues that "just because you call something a computer doesn't mean it fits the description," while Apple believes that its latest tablet really does fit the computer description. It's an argument that certainly won't end with this commercial.
