Hot on the heels of the release of the script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, J.K. Rowling announced a new series of Wizarding World ebooks, known as "Pottermore Presents."

A new series of Wizarding World ebooks

Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide will dive deeper into secrets and lore of the magical school; Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeists will feature a new story with background on Professor Slughorn; and Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, will reveal the history of Professor Kettleburn, along with more information on Professor McGonagall's role in the Second Wizarding War.

The three books are a compilation of some of the writing from Rowling already on the Pottermore fan site, coupled with new stories in that world that are being published for the first time, making them appealing both to fans who can't be bothered to keep up with every update on the Pottermore site and for those who've already read through everything online.

Rowling has already recently expanded the world recently with the Cursed Child, and this might be an indication that even more Potterverse material could be on its way.

The ebooks should serve as a good tide-me-over for fans

The ebooks are all scheduled to be released in just a few weeks, on September 6th, for $2.99 apiece. And while they're no substitute for a full novel, they should serve as a good tide-me-over for fans as they wait for the next major dose of Harry Potter, when the film adaptation of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them comes out in November.
