This is the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante. It's the drop-top version of the incredibly stunning Vanquish Zagato coupe that Aston unveiled earlier this year.
Unveiled at Pebble Beach this week, Aston Martin said that there was such "overwhelming customer interest" for the coupe (which was limited to just 99 units) that it decided to build another 99 Vanquish Zagatos... but to do this one without a roof.
The Volante — which means "flying" in Italian — shares much of the design with its hard-topped sibling, including the bladed LED taillights borrowed from the Aston Martin Vulcan supercar. Its V12 powertrain puts out 592 horsepower and takes the Vanquish Zagato from 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Of course, the entire thing is made of carbon fiber.
I don't think it looks quite as good as the coupe, but it's still the one I'd buy. I'm a sucker for convertibles: rip off the top and let me enjoy that 93 million miles of blue sky. Congratulations, Aston Martin. You've done it again.
Pricing was not released, but deliveries begin next year.
