First Click: Our favorite sport headphones, 'fashionable' VR, and more in the week ahead
August 8th, 2016

Get ready for the launch of “fashionable” virtual reality headgear on Monday with the arrival of the V1 VR Glasses from Dlodlo. Resembling sunglasses that might be worn by a Vegas Elvis, the Dlodlo VR headset features a 2400 x 1200 display with 105-degree field of view, yet weighs just 88 grams thanks to the processing unit being offloaded to a portable, Android-driven slab about the size of a smartphone. Can these compact VR specs really compete with Oculus, HTC, and Sony? Probably not, but we’ll let you know for sure after we see for ourselves at a press event later tonight.
Our This is My Next pick for the best sport headphones is also coming this week as is as a deeper dive into the Xbox One S adapter.
In gaming, our own Andrew Webster will be sharing his thoughts on No Man’s Sky after it makes its North American premiere on Tuesday, nearly three years since the sci-fi exploration sim was first announced.
Entertainment will have reviews for Rae Sremmurd’s sophomore album; Laika Studio’s stop-motion feature Kubo and the Two Strings; and Hell or High Water starring Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, and Ben Foster which hits US theaters on Friday.
In transportation we’re hoping to share our interview with Ralph Gilles this week, the man that leads design for Fiat Chrysler and is responsible for the look of Dodge's impressive SRT performance sub-brand.
All that and more in the days ahead. But first let’s take a look back at some of our favorite stories from the weekend that was.
