Google is reportedly testing speed limit indicators in Google Maps and Android Auto

Google is reportedly in the process of adding speed limit indicators to Android Auto and Maps app, testing a feature that has been requested by many users, and is already available in software from competitors like Garmin and Waze. A Google Maps user posted a screenshot showing a speed limit sign in the lower left corner of the app to Reddit. Another photo, shared by Android Police, shows a similar indicator appearing in the bottom right of the in-car Android Auto interface.

Android users in both the US and the UK claimed to see the new speed limit indicators, with some reporting that the feature appeared for a short time, before disappearing a day later. It's not clear when this feature will arrive officially in the app, or which countries it will come to first, but its inclusion would be a bonus for Android Auto users who have relied on other software in the past to inform them of speed limits.
