Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will soon star in his own DC Comics movie. Deadline reports that the actor will star in Black Adam, a companion to the upcoming Shazam! where he’s already set to play the superpowered anti-hero.

But who will play Shazam?

Johnson has been linked to the Shazam! project since 2014 when the casting was officially announced. Since then, Warner Bros. has been relatively quiet about the film, making no announcements about who will fill the title role. However, the studio was reportedly so excited about Shazam and Black Adam, it eventually decided to make a spinoff devoted entirely to Johnson’s character and his place in the DC Extended Universe.

Black Adam was created back in 1945, and was originally conceived as the arch-nemesis of Shazam, then known as Captain Marvel. When he shouts “Shazam!” he gains the powers of the Egyptian gods, but none of Shazam’s goodness. However, Johnson is set to play the character as an anti-hero, so expect to see some of the actor’s trademark charm when the film hits theaters in 2018.
