Uber just added a new feature that allows riders to make up to three stops along their trip from within the app. Gone are the days when riders needed to verbalize their words using an antiquated form of communication called “speech” to tell a driver about multiple destinations. Now, riders can pick up friends or a bottle of booze on the way to a party by adding the stops in the app.

Here’s Uber with the step-by-step description for the new feature:

To use the feature, tap “where to?” and then “+”. Add the addresses of your stops, and then request your ride. Should you need to make changes during your trip, you can also add and remove stops in real time. Your driver will automatically receive directions to each of the stops so you can sit back and relax.

Of course, passengers should expect to pay more for these multi-stop trips, as Uber calculates its fares based on a route’s total time and distance. In other words, if drivers are waiting for you to buy a bottle of wine, that wait time will be reflected in your final fare.

If you use Lyft at all, you’re probably used to making multiple stops during your ride-hail excursions. That’s because the company added a similar feature back in August. Uber and Lyft tend to go back and forth with these product updates, to the point where they’ve become virtually indistinguishable from each other. It’s kind of like Snapchat and Instagram, with the two companies “borrowing” each other’s innovations in the race to present the most complete product to users.

Most of Uber’s newest features have been geared toward drivers, including an in-app tipping option (available with Lyft since 2012), added fees for longer-than-usual pickups and late cancellations, and new ways to tell unruly passengers when they’re being jerks.
