And a good soundtrack

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a movie from director Edgar Wright. He was supposed to helm Ant-Man in 2015, but after dropping out of that project, we knew he was working on a crime comedy known as Baby Driver. Four years later, a couple of trailers have now given us our first look at the film.

Baby Driver follows a kid named Baby (Ansel Elgort) who works as a getaway driver for Doc (Kevin Spacey), a local crime boss, and his crew. We learn that Baby was in a car accident as a kid, and to cope, he uses music to drown out the ringing in his ears. That little detail likely means we’ll get a good soundtrack to accompany some excellent-looking car chases as Baby tries to get out from the grips of the people who control him.

An international trailer gives us some more additional footage:

Wright’s films are always pretty entertaining and visually delightful — Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End all hold up really well, and the bits that we see of Spacey, Jon Bernthal, and Jamie Foxx makes this look like it’ll be just as entertaining.

Baby Driver drifts into theaters on August 11th, 2017.
