Trump’s Twitter feed is about to find a second home in New York City. The Daily Show just announced its plan to build a “meticulously curated memorial library” of Trump tweets sometime in the near future.
More tweets IRL
Details on the library are scarce, but a press release promises “a fully interactive and hands-on experience for hands of all sizes.” Maybe this will be another example of printed tweets making their way into the real world? Or maybe the tweets will be stored in some other way. Microfilm? Virtual reality? Performance art?
Though he’s still in the early stages of his presidency, Donald Trump has already proven his inclination for using Twitter almost constantly, and as a way to circumvent the press. He still tweets at his old handle, @realDonaldTrump, with more frequency than he does at the official @POTUS handle.
It’s not clear what The Daily Show’s library will achieve, and even just as comedic fodder the idea seems stale, but it’s too early to say. The Daily Show hasn’t yet announced an opening date for the library, but it will be free and open to the public.
