Overwatch’s next hero Doomfist will be available on July 27th

The world could always use more heroes

Doomfist — the highly anticipated new hero for Overwatch, Blizzard’s popular team-based shooter — now has an official release date for his debut to the live PC servers and Xbox One and PS4 consoles on July 27th.

The new character was announced earlier this month, alongside a release on the game’s PTR (public test realm) server to help make sure that Doomfist’s abilities are well balanced. The launch at the end of July marks the “official” release for the final version of the character, also marking the first chance for console players to get to play as the new hero.

Along with the release date, Blizzard has a new video (embedded above) showing off a little more of Doomfist’s destructive power. It also explains more about the development of the character and his melee-style abilities.
