Sling TV is today rolling out desktop streaming of its live TV service. Subscribers can now watch using Google’s Chrome browser on Windows and macOS without any extra plugins, extensions, or add-ons. The Chrome version of Sling TV offers live programming for all the channels in your monthly package and also on-demand content.

Cloud DVR support isn’t yet included, but the company says that customers can eventually expect to see both that and the new, simpler grid guide added to the desktop experience. Sling TV makes no mention of what quality users can stream at with the Chrome browser, however; I’ve reached out to a spokesperson for clarification. Customers are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions during the beta period.

Most of Sling TV’s competitors also support desktop viewing, including DirecTV Now, PlayStation Vue, and YouTube TV. Hulu is the major exception, as the company still hasn’t brought its live TV product to desktop browsers yet. Previously, Sling TV already worked on Windows thanks to a universal app that’s also on Xbox One.

Yesterday, it was announced that Sling TV’s founding CEO Roger Lynch would depart the Dish-owned company and become the new chief executive at streaming music service Pandora.
