Civilization 6 iPhone

Civilization VI is getting a surprise release on the iPhone today. The epic strategy game has already been ported to a range of platforms since its PC debut in 2016, including the iPad and the Nintendo Switch, but the new version will tweak the experience to better suit a smaller smartphone screen. It contains all of the same content as the full PC release, and includes things like local multiplayer and a new tutorial for players who haven’t played Civilization before.

The good news for those locked into the Apple ecosystem is that it’s a universal app, so if you already own the iPad version, you can install the iPhone port for free. For everyone else, Civilization VI on the iPhone won’t come cheap. You can download it now and play 60 turns for free, but after that you’ll have to pay up. At launch, the game is available for $23.99, which is 60 percent off the normal $59.99 price tag.

You can grab it from the App Store right here.
