Fortnite’s latest update gets in the holiday spirit by introducing the long-awaited gifting feature, which allows players to purchase items for one another. The current iteration is a test that only lasts a week, but it gives you a good sense of what you can expect once the feature is permanent.
From now on, buying anything in the shop will give you two options: one to keep your purchase and another to give it away to a friend. Any gift can have a custom message attached to it and can only be sent to players who have been your friend for at least 48 hours. You can only send a gift if you’ve multifactored your account security (which you should do anyway), and there’s a three-gift limit per 24-hour period. Gifts aren’t refundable, and you can set your account to not allow gifts from other players.
Today’s update also introduces 60 fps for new Apple phones in addition to a big buff for shotguns. You can read the full patch notes here.
