The first teaser trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s China-set disaster movie Skyscraper aired during the Super Bowl tonight.
Update: The full trailer debuted during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after the game.
Skyscraper stars Johnson as Will Ford, a former FBI agent who works in skyscraper security. Neve Campbell (House of Cards, The Craft), Chin Han (Contagion, The Dark Knight), and Noah Taylor (Game of Thrones, Peaky Blinders) co-star. There was little information about the plot of the movie before the release of tonight’s teaser trailer, but it looks like there will be a skyscraper. Cool! Will Ford’s family is “trapped 240 floors in the air,” and some scary lady is singing a weird cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”
Rawson Thurber, best known for comedies like DodgeBall, We’re the Millers, and Central Intelligence, directed and wrote the film. Frequent Paul Thomas Anderson collaborator Robert Elswit, who won an Academy Award for his work on There Will Be Blood in 2008, was the cinematographer.
Skyscraper will be in theaters on July 13th.
