The Confusing choices with Music

So with Google changing around it's music offerings as of late, I starting to realize music is a confusing mess in general when it comes to these services.

First some history

  • WinAmp
  • iTunes
  • Pandora
  • Slacker Radio
  • Spotify
  • Spotify Premium
  • Google Music
  • iTunes Radio
  • iTunes Match
  • Google Music becomes Google Play Music
  • Rdio
  • Beats Music
  • Amazon Music
  • iTunes Radio becomes Apple Music
  • Beats Music folds into Apple Music
  • Tidal
  • YouTube Music
  • Amazon Music becomes Amazon Music Unlimited
  • Rdio folds into Pandora Premium
  • YouTube Music and YouTube Red becomes YouTube Premium
And this is just the stuff we know about....what happened to the simpler times. Also it seems Spotify is the only large music service that can stick to a service for an extended period of time. Kinda makes you wonder if this is the reason people stick with them and that they are the biggest player.
