Another year, another trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2. Today, developer Rockstar showed off the latest footage of the upcoming open-world Western, along with more details on the world and story. Here’s how the developer describes it:

America, 1899. The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.

After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.

This is the third proper look at the game so far: the sequel was announced with a trailer back in 2016, and Rockstar followed that up with a deeper look at the game’s story last year. Despite the title, Red Dead Redemption 2 will actually serve as a prequel to the original game, and, like its predecessor, it will feature both a lengthy single-player campaign and online elements.

It’s been in the works for a long time, and, barring any more delays, Red Dead Redemption 2 will land on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 26th. In the meantime, Xbox One owners can play the original game through the console’s backwards compatibility feature.
