It’s time to break out your wingsuit and dual-wielded machine guns because Square Enix just announced Just Cause 4, heralding a return of the explosive open-world action game to PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Just Cause 4 will once again put players in the shoes of Rico Rodriguez, the ‘80s action hero-inspired protagonist of the Just Cause games, as he goes up against “The Black Hand,” the world’s most powerful private army, in the fictional South American country of Solis. Just Cause 4 was developed by Avalanche Studios, which also created the previous three games in the series.
One of the hallmarks of the Just Cause series (aside from the massive, fiery explosions of large swaths of infrastructure) is the huge option for traversal that is offered, and Just Cause 4 is no exception. The game brings back the much-heralded wingsuit from the previous installment, along with the parachute, helicopters, fighter jets, tanks, boats, and cars that will be available to Rico as he blows his way through the massive open world. New to Just Cause 4 is the addition of updated weather effects, seen with Rico flying his way through a massive cyclone.
Just Cause 4 is set to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One December 4th, 2018.
