Wargroove is a turn-based strategy game where you control an army, and that crew is led by a special officer. Most commanders look like humans, or at least walk on two legs. While the Advance Wars-inspired game isn’t out yet, we already know that one of the characters is objectively the best one.
Meet Caesar. He is a dog, which is to say he is very good. I would die for this boy. Actually, I kind of have to — this is war. But still.
Caesar can be the player’s avatar. As a commander, he comes equipped with powerful abilities that can give you the upper hand in battle. We don’t yet know what Caesar’s powers will be, but I’m sure they’ll be perfect and worthy of many head-scritches.
Even Caesar’s backstory is great:
And last, but certainly not least, is Queen Mercia’s loyal and majestic hound, Caesar. As the court’s royal dog, Caesar has stayed by Mercia’s side since childhood, guarding her at all costs and getting all the pets in return.
Despite being a dog, he has managed to create an incredible air of authority and dignity around him, so much so that he is able to command whole armies to defend the Cherrystone Kingdom. But you better watch out, this doggy gets ruff.
For those of you following Wargroove, Caesar’s cuteness is probably no surprise. The entire game features some fantastic pixel art and adorable animations.
Wargroove will be out later in 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. You can read more about the other Wargroove commanders here. The important question now is: can the dog die?
