Amazon is dipping its toes into passkeys.

Amazon is the latest company to introduce a passkey option for logging in, but according to “passkeys-as-a-service” startup Corbado, the implementation has some room for improvement. You can’t use passkeys with Amazon’s native apps, Corbado says, and if you already have two-factor authentication set up, you still have to enter a 2FA code.

Amazon, in a statement to TechCrunch, says that it’s “in the early stages of adding Passkey support for to give customers another secure way to access their accounts. We will have more to share soon.”

You can turn on passkeys from your account settings > Login & security > click the “Set up” button on the “Passkey” row.
